OUR TEAM
Alastair Peebles has been in the Wine Trade for more than 30 years, including 10 years as wine director at Berry Bros & Rudd. He has made wine programmes for BBC and has worked with some of the world’s top vineyards to produce their promotional videos and DVDs. He also imports the wines of a number of individual French estates.
He and Carol started the school to share their passion and experience with like-minded people. Alastair’s commercial background helps him bring a practical and unpretentious approach to the subject. He lectures for Waitrose and for Waddesdon Manor and is an Approved Lecturer for the Wine & Spirit Education Trust. He became a Master of Wine in 1988.
Carol Peebles’s reason for co-founding the school was to share her love of cooking. Being here has given her the chance to source and make use of Devon’s astonishing array of produce.
She is a professional cook with considerable experience in the catering industry. She started with directors’ lunches in London, then ran a restaurant with 30 covers and subsequently founded and ran her own successful outside catering business.
